Riding the bus has always been the most affordable way to get around in Singapore. On average, commuters take over three million rides each day using more than 300 bus services covering all parts of the island.

Basic Bus Services

Singapore’s public buses offer one of the most convenient and enjoyable ways to explore the island’s charming streets. They complement the MRT in bringing you to practically any corner of the island. Most buses are air-conditioned for the comfort of passengers. Buses in Singapore are operated by SBS Transit and SMRT Buses.

Premium Bus Services (PBS)

What are Premium Bus Services (PBS)

Premium Bus Services (PBS) offer a solution for commuters heading to the Central Business District (CBD) during the peak hours in the morning. They cater to commuters who do not mind paying a higher fare for a more exclusive, comfortable and direct bus ride to the CBD. More importantly, PBS commuters are always assured of a seat and it costs a lot less to travel by PBS than by taxi.

Unlike basic bus services, PBS are designed primarily to ease the morning rush hour crowd heading towards the CBD. Currently, a total of about 70 PBS operate from various major estates to the CBD.

Please click here for Premium Bus Service Routes.

You can choose your desired PBS route using the Map application. To plan your journey, simply select enter origin and destination, and you can view the specific PBS serving the area concerned.

Fare Structure

Regardless of the boarding or alighting point, PBS charge a flat fare ranging from S$2.70 to S$7.00 per trip. On average, the PBS fare per trip is S$3.50.
