You can get a taxi by hailing one along a road, queuing for one at a taxi stand, or simply making a phone booking.
Book a Taxi via Phone
For your convenience, you can choose to book a taxi via phone, especially during the peak periods (6.00 am to 9.30 am and 6.00 pm to midnight), rainy days or festive seasons when the demand for taxis is high. Please note that a booking fee applies.
Hailing a Taxi in the Central Business District (CBD)
In the CBD, taxis are not allowed to pick up or drop off passengers along roads plied by buses between 7.30 am and 8.00 pm from Mondays to Saturdays, except public holidays. Picking up and alighting of passengers must be done at designated taxi stands/stops and driveways of buildings. Taxi Fares
Taxi fares are charged by the taxi meter and are based on a flag down rate and the distance travelled. The flag down rate ranges from S$3.00 to S$5.00 (depending on type of taxi). Applicable surcharges may also apply and vary between taxi companies. Please check with the driver on the surcharges and ask for a receipt at the end of the trip.
